Ever wonder why Bruce Lee and the great martial artists such as, Ip Man or Myamoto Musashi were deep thinkers out spoken on doing what is right?
I wrote briefly on this matter on AppliedMMA.
Why are kids still being bullied? This is fucked up! Bullying has been happening as far back as I can remember. I was picked on from 6th grade up to my sophomore year in highschool. How does this type of things till occur with all the technology we have today. Information and education travels at the speed of light. It doesn’t look like things are getting any better.
I see many MMA and Martial arts gyms that are active in bully prevention. But, it’s so obvious they’re using it as a revenue model. Fuckers. That’s ok, b/c I’ll eventually figure out away to expose this. These days the skill of martial arts has to be learned in a gym. The art must be learned from books and self-application. The teachers that we see in movies such as Mr. Miyagi or Ip Man are VERY rare.
I’m curious if martial arts practice can be a more effective solution. I personally think it is one obvious solution. But, nobody believes you unless you have data. Right? This is just based on my personal experience that martial arts helped me to overcome being bullied. It would be great if we could do a Kanh Academy style education program but provide martial arts education. But, is it possible to teach Martial Arts strictly online? Martial Arts Education should be free and available to everyone.
A complete martial arts training program include meditation practice. The Samurai believed this practice was just as important as his daily practice with the sword. Science is showing meditation increases ones ability for compassion. Maybe, that is the solution from martial arts to bullying. All of martial arts is meditation. Exercises such as forms, kata, rolling, and sparring are a dynamic meditation. Just like the monks use “walking meditation” or Kinhin.
